Salary range: $88,496 - $108,560
Term: This is a contractual position for the duration of 18 months, with possibility of becoming permanent.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking an experienced, organized and fast-paced individual for the role of Lead, Marketing Campaigns and Content. This position has a high level of responsibility, visibility and accountability.

Reporting to the Director, Communications and Marketing, the Lead, Marketing Campaigns and Content is responsible for setting the content and campaign strategies for the Agency to achieve business objectives. This includes strategy development, budget management and content development.

This role contributes to digital marketing content created across the organization including newsletters, website copy and marketing materials.

This role requires that the incumbent have campaign leadership and management experience and be able to dream up projects from beginning to end and make them happen.

They also handle the performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Editorial Strategy, Content and Campaigns:

  • Responsible for the master planning of marketing campaigns and unit projects, developing workback schedules, project plans, key deliverables and milestones and budget tracking/reporting to achieve business goals.
  • Leading integration of campaign deliverables and products and facilitating divisional approvals processes.
  • Set the content plan for earned, owned and paid channels, inspires thought-leadership and crafts narratives that Invest Ontario can own in the investment attraction space.
  • End-to-end ownership of an Invest Ontario newsletter, collaborating with team members for contributions and ensuring it contributes to nurturing our business pipeline.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to better inform marketing work and strategies.
  • Working with other team members, leverage web analytics tools and other data sources to gain insights about users and optimize messaging, content and campaigns that resonate with investors.
  • Track campaign and content performance, validate messages and provide recommendations for optimization.

Team leadership:

  • Mentorship to a team of high-performing Marketing Advisors to support day-to-day coordination and strategic delivery of OPS marketing campaigns
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the workload across the team and identify opportunities for enhancement or optimization.
  • Be a recognized subject matter expert across the Agency, building effective relationships with Ministry colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and oversee relationships with all external media and creative agencies, joining status calls when needed, attending multi-corner presentations, and trouble-shooting issues with estimates or work-back schedules.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Education and Experience

  • The minimum qualifications for this job are a university degree in journalism, marketing or communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8-10 years of experience in marketing including significant experience project managing mid-large size integrated marketing campaigns in a B2B or G2B environment.
  • Excellent written communication in English required, fluency in French an asset.
  • Sectoral experience an asset.

Knowledge and Skills

  • A demonstrated leader and collaborator who can provide technical guidance, coaching and advice to team members in the delivery of marketing campaigns and development of high-quality products.
  • Experience leading and coordinating cross-functional teams (e.g., business development, analytics, marketing, Ministry partners) to ensure cohesive campaign execution.
  • Ability to shape communications/presentations around storytelling to best engage and influence audience.
  • Ability to understand the voice and perspectives of multiple personas.
  • A hyper-organized project manager who can oversee the delivery of concurrent campaigns from inception to evaluation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Technical proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and ActiveCampaign, Salesforce and digital marketing platforms (primarily LinkedIn).
  • Campaign budget management.
  • Proven ability to manage agencies and vendors.
  • CRM data platform management an asset.
  • Experience working with government advertising directives, a plus.
