Narrator: Daanish Hussain - Investment Project Lead - Invest Ontario Daanish Hussain: It is the province's and the country's first industrial scale separator manufacturing facility, and of course separators are a primary component of EV batteries. Narrator: Bolstering Ontario's EV supply chain with Canada's first EV battery separator plant Hon. Sam Mills: Invest Ontario did a wonderful job of sort of bringing together players at different levels and different organizations to ensure that we could move quickly and that they could break down any barriers or roadblocks to getting to 'yes'. They were solutions providers, they were answer providers. Daanish Hussain: Invest Ontario supported Asahi Kasei in numerous ways. The first was delivering customized set of data on site specs, on regionally specific labour availability and data. The second was identifying site for this mega project which is a very complex thing. Third was developing a financial support package that met the very specific needs of the company while also staying within our mandate and providing excellent value to taxpayers.
