Padraig Callaghan:
From the very early stages, when we set up our entity locally here in Toronto. We partnered with Invest Ontario to make sure that we were fully integrated in the local community. We had plenty of introductions to similar businesses and organizations in Ontario to help us to become familiar with the local business environment.

Continued interviews with both John Thomas of Invest Ontario and Padraig Callaghan of Kainos, the Toronto city skyline and interiors of the Invest Ontario offices.

John Thomas:
Our goal is to be a trustworthy partner, you know, be a window for companies.

Padraig Callaghan:
We selected Toronto and Ontario as our hub for North America for a number of reasons. First and foremost, there's a strong access to talent. In the very earlier stages, Invest Ontario and the local community were really helpful in making sure that we have access to the right networks. It was quite helpful to come along from a very early stage and to properly integrate with local community, with the support of Invest Ontario.

In the next 3 to 5 years, we expect to beyond triple our workforce locally in Canada and in Ontario, and to continue to scale up locally.

John Thomas:
They found that the quality of talent in Ontario is great. Health care is cheaper here than in the US. It's about 30% cheaper. They can access US customers easily. One thing was customized information; market intelligence, highlighting things like research and development tax credits, introducing them to different ministries within Ontario, different levels of government from the municipal to federal, introductions to universities and colleges.

John Thomas:
We want to be that one window that we can guide and point you and help you ask those questions to help you make that decision.

Padraig Callaghan:
The future is bright. We do see a lot of opportunity, as I see it, locally here in Canada, but we see this hub servicing the whole North American client base for Kainos.
